Kitchen Steward/Dishwashers Needed


Are you detail-oriented and ready to be the unsung hero of the kitchen, ensuring that all culinary operations run smoothly? If so, we have an important role for you as a Kitchen Steward/Dishwasher. In this key position, you will operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools, sanitize kitchen areas, manage dishwashing tasks, and support the overall cleanliness of the kitchen. Your dedication to cleanliness, organization, and adherence to company policies and safety standards will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and efficient kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Management: Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools, including dishwashing machines, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing stations, and trash compactors.
  • Sanitization: Wash and disinfect kitchen and store room areas, including tables, tools, knives, and equipment, to ensure high hygiene standards.
  • Inventory Management: Receive deliveries, store perishable items properly, and rotate stock to maintain freshness.
  • Wares Handling: Ensure clean wares are stored in appropriate areas and use detergent, rinsing, and sanitizing chemicals in the 3-compartment sink to clean dishes.
  • Quality Control: Inspect, pull, and stack cleaned items, sending soiled items back for re-scrubbing and re-washing as needed.
  • Racking and Spraying: Rack and spray all racked items with hot water to loosen and remove food residue, and sort, soak, and wash/re-wash silverware.
  • Clean-Up: Breakdown dirty bus tubs, empty and maintain trash cans and dumpster areas, clean and mop all areas in assigned departments, and dispose of glass in the proper containers.
  • Safety and Compliance: Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures, report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to a manager, and complete safety training and certifications.
  • Teamwork: Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, support team goals, and ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
  • Physical Requirements: Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.
  • Adaptability: Be prepared to perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors to support the efficient operation of the kitchen.
